If you want more engagement on your posting, and in your advertisement this is for you.
Why do you need more engagements for your advertising?
I know, we shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover. Unfortunately, that’s not how your cold buyer thinks. They are a nasty bunch of people who actually judge you to the core by your very existence. (OK I’m exaggarating but you know what I mean)
Why the engagement focus for social proofs?
1. FREE EXTRA EYEBALLS
2. EVEN MORE LASER TARGETED AUDIENCE
I put in my previous ad campaign to show you. These were done in my old-tshirt good’o days and it still did the job. I even got people tagging their bosses on my post. Now they are in my “loop” that I can remarket to them in my new campaign.
Here’s a detailed step-by-step instruction to get you started, and structure your campaign properly so you can get more engagements from your users.
1) Setup Business Manager for your page if you haven’t.
2) Once you setup the business manager, you can go from the upper left tab of the business manager and select power editor.
3) In the power editor, you’ll select the “+Create a Campaign” button under campaigns. Enter a campaign name that you can familiarize yourself with. For example, if your page is a Cats Fanatics page. Your Campaign Name could be “Cats Fanatics PPE”. PPE(Post Engagement) is the objective you choose here because Facebook will try it’s best to find an audience that is most likely to engage in what you’re posting.
Use a viral image or something that stands out. You can use Google Images or Pixabay as a resource.
4) The Ad Set Name can be something like Cats Fanatics PPE || Ages 18-65 || SG. This helps you understand what you’re targeting without actually going into the targeting options.
5) The Ad Name could be Cats Fanatics PPE || Age 18-65 || SG || Sad Cat Photos. This way you can differentiate between what ad copy photos you used for your ad set.
Note= *It is recommended that you have one ad set and one ad. Don’t put multiple ads in one ad set because Facebook will quickly determine which ad is the winner once they get enough data. Like really fast.
In the ad set, you can access this by either clicking the edit button or looking at the screenshot I provided.
Here are some key takeaways from ad sets:
Budget – Set it to an amount you’re comfortable with – Usually $5-$10 is enough per day. Leave everything else the same.
Audience – You want whoever to like your page be a good related audience. So, let’s take cat fanatics for example. The people I want to like my page are those that really LOVE cats. I’d take the Facebook Insights tool: https://www.facebook.com/ads/audience_insights
Once you’re in there, you can put in certain interests and look at the page likes tab. From the screenshot you can see that there’s a good amount of page interests that are related to cats.
But, if I take it to the next level say Catster magazine as an interest, you can see like 90+% of the pages of people that like Catster are interested in Cats to a larger degree.
Placements – I recommend that you don’t run all placements. Instead, the only placements you should choose are Facebook News Feed – Desktop and Mobile Feed. Once you start running your campaign for a few days and get more data. You can split them between ad sets and then see which one performs better. Or you can do that from the get go. All depends on your budget.
Optimization & Delivery – I would leave all those options as default. When you become more experienced, you can work with “manual bidding” and “Optimization for Ad Delivery”
For this, you want to find captivating images for your audience to engage with your post. Think about how people go on Facebook. They’re not there to see your post, they’re there to send their friends post. Find something to detract away from their attention.
Here are some techniques to use when creating an ad:
(*Note: This is not a one size fits all, you’ll have to split test multiple images/ad copy to see what works best with your audience. Again, to test multiple things you have to have a good amount of budget to work with)
Use Emoji’s on your ads – https://fbicons.net/
Guide your audience on engagement with ad. Example “Like our page for more weekly content”
If you add text to your page, make sure you’re checking the text overlay tool: https://www.facebook.com/ads/tools/text_overlay
Those are some of the methods you can use to create your ads. And this is the overall guideline you can follow to get started. This isn’t the holy grail of guides, but it’ll give you a good idea of where to start.
Create Ads that have high co-relation to your audience:
Start with these searches:
50 things only a “Insert common name of audience” would know
Then use that content to create lists of what is shared in images
If you predominantly have a mobile audience, using a vertical image on a black background will give this post wings.
Look at insights and publish this post during the time your audience are most active on your site.
You will need to post a series of these posts and then wait for Facebook to tell you that this post is doing better than xyz
Now for the ultimate quick content marketing strategy
Split your posting content creation in so:
Morning 6am – 8.30
Afternoon 10am – 2pm
Evening 5pm – 7pm
Night 8pm – 11pm
The timing on this is as such because the majority of people working jobs for me goes as such
6am they wake up, sex with partner, look at social, get kids out of bed, bathe and have breakfast looking at their social feed and drop kids of at school or take public transport or/and get to work by this time
To a person working 9 – 5 at least by 10am they are distracting themselves if possible desiring afternoon to come along or are to busy – either way there partner sends them messages saying i love you, sorry about yesterday blah blah blah – so drop a post for this time.
9 – 5 persons evening starts as soon as work finishes, they check social, to kill time whilst in traffic, on public transport, waiting in the car on the school run and whilst they eat and then come to close of when they get their children to sleep, have come back from the gym or only just got home
Childrens in bed now or should be, they watch catch up TV, or may be eating, after in getting in home late, or eating at mothers close by tor visiting family to bring their child back home hoping they will fall to sleep or they are head in there phones each partner with nothing to talk about as both bored at work and sex life is a downer
Go and find 3 posts for each part, preferably lists, you can mix in old family sayings they hate or laugh at now type of thing.
If you boost these posts immediately, and you have done your homework you will see which are more viable for your audience.
When you find the right image post with a list they relate to, it will continue to always get likes and comments and you can ask these people to like your page or naturally they will come to your page if you can consistently have them scream “YO THAT’S ME”
I prefer to attract audiences in the same way i attracted them, knowing i can continue to do this again and again and it has quality audiences refer their friends or talk about the page they have seen.
Do this right, people will come to your page and like every single post because they cannot help but say “Hey! THATS ME”
